YOGA

imgYoga means union i.e. union of individual soul with the super soul. Various methods and techniques applied to achieve this object are also called yoga. The aim of yoga practice is the development of perfect balance between body, mind and the soul. Hath yoga is one  branch of very wide subject of yoga Kriyas, Asanas, Pranayamas, Mudras, Bundhas and Relaxation are various parts of Hatha Yoga, Kriyas do purification of body,

Asanas remove restlessness, instability, laziness and obesity from the body and provide strength and glow Endocrine glands especially are benefited by Asanas.

Pranayama (Breathing Exercises) is the control and regulation of breath, Practice of Pranayama provides longevity of life, control over passion, peace and happiness of mind. It also produces lightness of body.

Mudras gives steadiness.

Bundhas are energy releasers and they cure many diseases.

Rest and Relaxation provides relaxation to the body and mind. A sense of rest, calmness and comfort is felt. A yogic relaxation of fifteen minutes may equal to the sleep of one hour depending of course, upon the depth of relaxation. High B.P. and palpation is lowered down immediately Headache, Bodyache, and fatigue are also removed.

 

Three Folds of YOGA

Yoga is preventive, curative and generative. Thus practice of Yoga can prevent and cure diseases and can also improve the functions of internal and external organs of our body.

YOGA vs. EXERCISE

Exercise consume the energy while Yoga conserves the energy. Exercise can develop outer muscles but yoga can also improve or develop internal vital organs of our body such as liver, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, thyroid, etc.
